Our Chamber offices are in a historic building constructed in 1875 in the heart of downtown Greenfield. The Chamber building is included in the Greenfield Courthouse Square Historic District listing on the National Register of Historic Places.
Conservation of our historic building & Chamber home is a priority for us. Those who came before us dedicated enormous efforts to ensure the Chamber had a significant place in the community.
Originally built as a residence and doctor’s office, the building was then converted into the first funeral home in Hancock County, which it remained for over sixty years. One Courthouse Plaza then became the headquarters for the Greenfield Central Community School Corporation before being purchased by the Greater Greenfield Chamber of Commerce in 1995.
The Chamber building is a catalyst for community meetings, board of director meetings, training sessions, non-profit planning sessions and receptions.
The Hancock County Chamber of Commerce is proud to make its home in this historic building and preserve its significance in downtown Greenfield.
